ENG101. Kauffman Project #2 An Evaluative Review: Web Resources

Google Search Tips

As you are conducting your search on the web using a search engine such as Google , you will need to try and limit your search, by including specific information to avoid results that are not relevant to your research.

When you are conducting your search using Google try using the following suggestions below.

Searching for Book Reviews on the web :

  • Search for the title of the book, enclosed in quotation marks    ( "Becoming" )
When you put your search parameters in "quotes", it tells the search engine to search for the whole phrase.

  • If the title is not very distinctive, add the author's last name "Becoming" and Michelle Obama

  •  Limit to the type of search  "Book Review" or add search term "Review"

Example:  "Becoming" and Michelle Obama  and Book Review
Becoming"  and Michelle Obama and Review

Note: Use AND to connect your key concepts together.
